HeyJa Do'sunique style and simplicity have become her distinctive characteristics. The artist created its with natural and sculptural form. She kept the shapes and textures simple, but the ceramics process are complicated. Almost each piece goes through months by HeyJa. A dense sculpting clay is first hand formed then inside is glazed with cone 6 and 10 for high and medium temperature density firing. A proprietary black or white terra sigillata, a brushed on slip that antedates the first century, is used to finish the surface which creates its cracked surface. They are not only functional pieces but as their own sculptural objects which are curated to work well collectively and as an independent piece to elevate any space.
Her works are so unique with simple style which is unforgettable. HeyJa Do’s works are exhibited in several large galleries and hotels.
