Taro Tasaki, CHOU Ching-Hui, Wu Chuan Lun, Yeh Yi-Li, Hsu Tang-Wei, Jhouyu Hsieh, Tsai Shih-Hung, Kua, Yung-Ya online exhibition 8/8-9/30/2020

Thanks for all of friends and artists supported this event! YiCOLLECTA is going to launch Relay20 sixth round, an online collection that collaborates with various artists at a reasonable price. A total of eight artists are included in the sixth round, who are artists Taro Tasaki, CHOU Ching-Hui, Wu Chuan Lun, Yeh Yi-Li, Hsu Tang-Wei, Jhouyu Hsieh, Tsai Shih-Hung, Kua, Yung-Ya.

Taro Tasaki
He is a cat, he is the patron saint of all-kind and he also shares the love. Just look into his clear eyes, he will see your soul clearly.

Coming from Fukuoka, Japan, Taro Tasaki is whimsical as he loves cartoons so much since he was a child. His idol is Jule Verne, the father of science fiction. It is full of creativity in his creation of clay. There is none of a hint of bright color, only the original color of clay to represent his memory and time from the past. To Tasaki, after human find the use of fire back to in the stone age, uneven of distribution resources brings fight and war. The nature foundation of clay can show the contradiction of human beings.

Tasaki work is collected by the Consulate General of Japan in Barcelona, Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum. His exhibition had been held in lots of places in Japan, for example, the Utsunomiya Museum of Art, Art Fair Tokyo, etc.

Wu Chuan Lun
In this age of digital reproduction, the works and products can be rewriting its formation as the end. the wreckage presents the work itself.

Wu Chuan Lun’s works have a clear way of thinking, how nature is perceived and defined in the present. He has a great interest in the grey area between nature and civilization, the discussion on classic and digital. He works on multiple media, for example, computer images, photography, ready-made objects, and devices among man-made and natural products.

Wu Chuan Lun graduated from the Institute of Plastic Arts, National Tainan University of the Arts. Currently works and lives in Tainan and Berlin. He has participated in many local and foreign exhibitions. In 2014, he was invited to join Taipei Biennale and residency in Seoul, Berlin, and Peru. He works are collected by the OCI Museum of Art in Seoul and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art.

CHOU Ching-Hui
Use the zoo as the theme and studio, Animal Farm is telling a modern story that exposes the different aspects of contemporary society. Zoo symbolizes the cage humanity is trapped within and the efficiency of city life.

It is strange that animals trapped in an artificial stage, represent a question, were society, city, home where human locked? Through the view of the audience looking at the animals, we reflect the relationship between our bodies, existence, the masses, and society.

Photo Album ‘Animal Farm’, limited to 200 editions, included CHOU Ching-Hui's five-year shooting project with the theme "People kept in a cage of society". The exhibition was exhibited at the 2014 Taipei Biennale. CHOU Ching-Hui (1965-), graduated from the Shih Hsin University, has won many local and international photography awards such as the Independence Post Group Annual Taiwan News Award, the Taipei Photography Festival Reportage Photography Award Gold Medal.


YEH Yi-li
Wearing a pink dot custom and waking on the crowded street in Hong Kong, this act drew everyone’s eyeball.
This property is the first impression of YEH Yi-li. She always dresses like a fairy, hero, funny creature, and walking around to subvert people mindset.

Yeh disassembles the elements from subculture and pop culture to put into her own work. It usually floats between reality and imagination to expose the different aspects of contemporary society. She first started her work with digital and performance art. Until recently, she uses sculpture as the presentation. Modern toys and daily essentials were made.

YEH Yi-li（1973—）graduated from the Institute of Applied Art of National Tainan University of the Arts, with lots of experiences on the international artist-in-residence program. Invited to join Venice Biennale, International Ceramic Triennial Unicum, Festival Les Instants Video. Her works are collected by Narodni muzej Slovenije, Ssamziespace, art bank Taiwan and Taitung Art Museum.

Hsu Tang-Wei
“Messy ropes and images make the composition firm but eternally changeable. A complex map with a precise coordinate that can be found by the first glance. This is the best description of Hsu’s art.”

Despite the complicated composition, Hsu’s paintings give the audience a calm feeling. Skillfully adding decorations onto pictures that are already fully occupied by images, he creates a harmonious and steady space rather than chaos. Contrastive colors, unoriented lines, and irregular shapes, all these elements collaborate together in Hsu’s work in a magical fantastic style. Via his art, he invites the audience to an adventure and exploration into his imaginary world.

Hsu Tang-Wei graduated from Shih Chien University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and then continued his study in plastic arts at the Tainan National University of the Art. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles and Taipei. Hsu has various experiences participating in international art exhibitions and holding solo exhibitions. Furthermore, he has been artist-in-residence and completes a series of public art. Hsu’s works have been nominated by Asian Cultural Council and Taipei Art Awards and has won Taoyuan International Art Awards.

Jhouyu
Under the high wall of capitalism, it is all picking up the rubble of art that has fallen, and constantly piecing together and rebuilding to defend the right to survive of art.

To Jhouyu , the repetition and generation of desire are the body of artistic reflection and the driving force of his production. In contemporary society, the phenomenon of high capitalization and consumerism, desire has become unsatisfied, and the appreciation of art has gradually become ritualized and consumerized in a capitalized society. Where can art stand? Jhouyu Hsieh discusses the construction of desire and the definition of the true essence, try to reflect on the art marketization and resist the subjectivity of capital art, and summon the most fundamental meaning of art.

Jhouyu（1990-）graduated from the National Tainan University of the Arts and is now studying at the National Taipei University of the Arts Institute of Trans-disciplinary Arts. In 2017, she was selected in the "International Art-in-Residence Exchange Program" and stayed in Urauchi, India for one month. Her works have won many local awards.

Tsai,Shih Hung
I am an outsider who ridicules the society, but I also fell deeply into it.

Tsai’s work is like a poem that gloomy but profound. The theme of ‘obsolescence and nothingness’ are always been has found as the core of his work, presented with gray and cold tones, but also embellished with colorful colors to form a posture of sidelines and create a sense of edge of being alone. Audiences should not focus on the single aspect, there is no absolute opposition between positive and negative.

Tsai,Shih Hung（1979-）graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts, represented Taiwan as an artist-in-residence in Paris and Hong Kong. Actively join the local art exhibition, her works have been collected in the White Rabbit Gallery of Australia, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung Art Museum, etc.

Kua, Yung-Ya
Using the unique tricks in ink painting, Kua tries to present her delighted experiences that happened in daily life. Not only the ink was melting away on the paper, but also her innocence and stability from her mind.

Kua draws livelihood like her cat which living with her. Apart from the traditional landscape as a theme, she thinks that daily experiences can inspire the audience. Although only having black and white, her leisure and innocence were seen within her brush and ink. Girls and cats take us back to the childhood where nursery rhymes play and urbanites heal.

Kua, Yung-Ya（１９７４－）born in Kagoshima. Because of her father painter Kua, Guo-Tai, she started her joinery as a painter. Graduated from the oil painting course of the Kyoto University of Arts, after that she joined Li Geng’s, son of famous ink painter Li Keran, studio to learn ink painting.
