Rose Wylie (1934~) was born in Kent. She gave up her career for her family until she graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA, in 1981. Then she was noticed by people 10 years later, and was called as “the eldest rising artist”. The idea of her works were derived from her own life experience, such as art history, movies, dramas, news and celebrity gossips. In her paintings, viewers often see objects which were out of proportion with scenes. All the controversial issues turned into joking graffiti, taking the conflict out of a humorous tone and making the world appear absurd but simple. Rose Wylie's works always make people feel childlike and vibrant. She had exhibited at Royal Academy of Arts, London (2015, 2016, 2017); Azerbaijan Pavilion, Venice Biennale (2015).
