"Medea" is a cross-century and magnificent classic drama work. It is a tragedy that told a sad love story. It was first performed in the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 1993 and once became a sensation, left a shocking bomb to the Theater field. "Medea" is adapted from the famous opera "Medea" by Euripides, one of the three Greek tragic poets, and recreated the classics of Greek tragedy into oriental style. In 2021, the original team is going to reunite, including the two famous Peking opera actors Wu Hsing-Kuo and Wei Haimin, presenting the work again.

Medea is a character in Greek mythology. She is an exotic woman, the daughter of King Aeetes of Colchis, a niece of Circe, and the granddaughter of the sun god Helios. As a descendant of the sun god, she was also the chief priestess. She was proficient in various spells and had high mana. Medea was shot by the arrow of the god of love, then fell in love at the first sight with Jason who came with was the Argos to find the Golden Fleece. Jason asked Medea’s father Aeetes to give him the Golden Fleece, but the Golden Fleece is the treasure of Colchis and can’t be easily given to others. So, Aeetes puts out three tests to Jason which are enough to kill him. Medea used her mana to allow Jason to pass the battle safely. However, Jason knew Aeetes couldn't give him the Golden Fleece so he decided to steal the Golden Fleece. Medea finally chose to betray her motherland and help Jason steal the Golden Fleece, after that the two ran away from Colchis.
