"Court Square" in Long Island City is located on the joining spot of E, F, G, three subway lines and only one stop away from Manhattan acorssing the East River. Takes another stop, you can reach thecenter of Fifth Avenue/MoMA. It was occupited by some artists and art galleries in the ‘90s. Within the past decate where finally became a new and hot community which gathered by white-collar and young familys. Tens of toll buildings are shooting up recently just like woods after the raining season in spring.
The first thing you should do here is to patronize a good coffee shop. To asking a cup of Cortado Espresso along with an equal amount of 1 to 1 hot milk which is delicious and enjoyable indeed. The newly opened in 2017, Toby's Estate Coffee near the Court Square, its quality deserves to be the most branded plus its well dressed interioa in this area. (figure below 1 and 2). Only to open less than two weeks has attracted a large number of young customers. It enhanced the quality of living and life style of Long Island City tramendasly.
However, the most representative coffee shop would be the Sweetleaf Coffee & Espresso Bar at the corner of Jackson Avenue and 11 Street (figure 3). This is a cool cafe, from the posters on the wall to the music are all relate to the heavy metal and punk songs in the ‘80s. Comfortable and relaxed environment made their staff very friendly as well. In addition to the quality of coffee aroma, the bakery of their own are in place, especially carrot cake & brownies. Then the Mill Coffee Company, which was opened about a year ago that located further in west, on the corner of 11th Street and 44 Drive. The quality of grinding coffee is fairly stable. It is another option for the neighbor or people who love coffee nearby. Last year, the guests were not much when the business started. We worried about if they can’t hold on, so trying to go for patronize frequently. Fortunatelly, seeing their business gets stablized and customer significantly incressed as the owner is no longer struggling in person now! (Address: 44-61 11th St, LIC, NY.)
During a walk a few days ago, unexpectely discovered a new coffee shop “LIC Corner Café” in 21 Street and 45 Road. As a result, the coffee bean is also selected by Toby’s Estate. The owner of the store, Annie, has served in a nearby Italian restaurant for a long time. At noon, you can enjoy some daily homemade light food like sandwich and Keesh Pie, etc., the only drawback is that the amount of seat is limited.
